Note: Some of this is obvious, but you never know who’s reading and what their exposure is. If there’s anything we missed or got wrong, let us know in comments.

General: Joe’s note… I am doing these annotations and am enjoying the story but I feel like I don’t know enough about gaming to offer much in the way of insights. Hopefully commenters and volunteer annotators can help fill in. Apologies for the sparseness of insights here.

  • Can anyone explain what happens here – how does Fringe get past creatures? Does she black out? Does represent some sort of gaming feature?

  • Fringe used binding twine earlier  to catch the junior ultramyocite in CP#2 P3-5. Binding twine is specifically mentioned in #2 P4,p5.

  1. As far as gaming goes, heaven help me I wouldn’t call myself “a gamer”, but I’ve played a few of the Pokemon games. Particularly the first couple. Anyway the alphabet Pokemon, sorry, Modded, in this, remind me of Unown, the alphabet Pokemon from Pokemon Gold (and possibly later titles). I’ll let you look them up yourself. They’re not the Latin alphabet, but map to it one-to-one, so Pokemon World sometimes has messages spelled out in Unown.
