Note: Some of this is obvious, but you never know who’s reading and what their exposure is. If there’s anything we missed or got wrong, let us know in comments.

Cover

  • It looks like Pru is gesturing to the Grim Reaper, who personifies death. Commenter Greenaum notes that Pru’s is asking death to wait a bit, while she attempts to rescussitate the patient using a defibrillator paddle – hence the open shirt. (The scene doesn’t appear in the issue.)

  1. Specifically, she’s telling Death to give her a minute. Handy for a paramedic.

Dunno what the bottle’s supposed to have in it, there’s not many things you’re supposed to pour into the mouth of unconscious people, especially borderline-dead ones. Nice pic of Death, though, he’s rarely looked better.

    1. Ah hell, it’s not a bottle! It’s a defibrillator paddle! Hence the open shirt. It’s confusing because you wouldn’t normally wield just one of them (she needs her other hand to signal to Death, of course).

Anyway 4 months between that comment and this one. What’s that, about average publication schedule so far?

  2. OK, re the chili… Are there any cafes in the USA that sell “Chili that nobody’s heard of”? Surely all chili is “our famous”. And since Chili is traditionally a Mexican / Southern US dish, the idea of Famous Upstate New York Chili is something of a joke. It’d only be funnier if it were kosher.
